Tuition Benefits
Tuition Waiver for Full-Time Employee and Spouse
Employee: After six months of service, an employee may enroll in any course at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø.
Spouse: After one year of service, a spouse may take undergraduate classes. Â After three years of service, a spouse may take graduate courses at a 50% reduction.
Please Note: The tuition waiver benefits apply to basic tuition only, at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø. This benefit does not apply to books, supplies or University fees.  A designated fee of $25 is currently charged, in addition to any applicable University fees.
Dependent Tuition Waiver
After one year of service, dependent children may take undergraduate classes for up to four academic years. Tuition waiver only. No room and board.
Tuition Exchange Scholarship Program
After one year of service, dependent children may be eligible to attend one of over 600 other institutions on approved list for up to four academic years. Tuition waiver only. No room and board.
Paid Time Off
Vacation
Administrative staff accrue 20 days of vacation per year and are eligible to use accrued vacation immediately. Accruals occur on a monthly schedule.
Bi-weekly staff accrue 20 days of vacation per year. Accruals occur on a monthly schedule and can be used after completing a 120 day probationary period.
Sick
Exempt staff paid monthly and non-exempt staff paid bi-weekly accrue 10 days per year. Accruals are based upon pay periods.
Holidays
²ÝÁñÉçÇø observes 11 holidays per calendar year. Eligible upon employment.
Funeral Leave
Up to three days paid leave for immediate family member. Eligible upon employment.
Jury Duty
Full pay, unless jury duty occurs outside business hours. Eligible upon employment.
Health, Dental & Vision Insurance
Medical Benefits – OhioHealthy
Health coverage, including prescriptions is through OhioHealthy. ²ÝÁñÉçÇø and employee pay a share of premiums for single, employee and spouse/domestic partner, employee and children and family coverage. Employee is eligible the first of the month after employment, provided employee enrolls within 30 days.
Dental Benefits – Delta Dental
Dental coverage is through Delta Dental. ²ÝÁñÉçÇø and employee pay a share of premiums for single, employee and spouse/domestic partner, employee and children and family coverage. Employee is eligible the first of the month after employment, provided employee enrolls within 30 days.
Vision Benefits – Vision Service Plan (VSP)
Vision coverage is through VSP. Â Employee is responsible for the entire premium for single, employee and spouse/domestic partner, employee and children or family coverage. Deductions are taken pre-tax. Employee is eligible the first of the month after employment, provided employee enrolls within 30 days.

This link leads to the machine-readable files that are made available in response to the federal Transparency in Coverage Rule and includes negotiated service rates and out-of-network allowed amounts between health plans and healthcare providers. The machine-readable files are formatted to allow researchers, regulators, and application developers to more easily access and analyze data.
Retirement Plan
²ÝÁñÉçÇø offers the opportunity for employees to plan for their long-term security through its 403(b) defined contribution retirement program.
Retirement Programs
The University currently makes available to all qualified employees, a retirement program administered by the Ìý(°Õ±õ´¡´¡).
Employee Pre-Tax Contributions
Upon hire, eligible employees are given the opportunity to make their own pre-tax contributions up to the maximum amount allowed by IRS regulations. The University strongly encourages employees to contribute as much as they can since this is a defined contribution plan, which generally pays off in relationship to how much and how soon in a career that money was contributed.
Social Security
In addition to 403(b) savings, the employee and the University each pay taxes for Social Security and Medicare. Social Security tax is withheld from employees’ wages at a rate of 6.2%. Medicare is withheld at a rate of 1.45%. These are added together and referred to as FICA (Federal Insurance Contributions Act) payroll taxes. Automatic deductions are made from each employee’s paycheck and the required contribution is made by the University.
Social Security pays benefits when you retire at age 62 or over, becomes disabled, or die, if eligibility requirements are met. Medicare is a federal health insurance program for persons age 65 and over, and certain disabled persons. It generally has two parts – hospital insurance and medical insurance.

Income Protection
Sick Leave
Employees receive 10 days of sick leave per year up to a maximum of 130 days, or 40 days maximum for bargaining unit members. Sick leave accrues immediately for Administrative Staff. Biweekly employees are eligible to use sick leave after 120 day probationary period.
Short-Term Disability
Employees are eligible for Short-Term Disability effective the 1st of the month after one year of service. ²ÝÁñÉçÇø pays the entire cost of the premium. After 30 consecutive calendar days for full-time faculty and 14 consecutive calendar days for administrators and staff, the plan pays 60% of base salary for up to 180 days.
Shared Leave
Employees are eligible after one year of service. Eligible employees may receive up to 45 days of donated leave time for catastrophic illness/injury.
Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurances
²ÝÁñÉçÇø pays the entire cost of life insurance coverage for two times your annual salary minus special earnings, up to $250,000.  Employees are eligible the first of the month after employment, upon completion of an enrollment form.

- Effective Date of the Plan: April 1, 2016.
- Eligible Group(s): all active employees working at least three-quarter time.
Waiting Period
First day of the month following date of hire or the day you become eligible for the coverage.
Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
²ÝÁñÉçÇø pays the cost for all employees working at least three-quarter time to have Basic Life and AD&D Insurance equal to 2 times their basic annual earnings. If not a multiple of $1,000, this amount will be rounded to the next higher multiple of $1,000. This amount may not exceed $250,000.
Personal Life and AD&D Insurance will be reduced as follows:
- At age 67, benefits will reduce by 35% of the original amount.
- At age 70, benefits will reduce an additional 15% of the original amount.
- Benefits terminate when you retire.
Voluntary Life Insurance
Full-time and regular part-time employees working at least 20 hours per week may elect Voluntary Life Insurance in any $10,000 increment; subject to a maximum of five times their basic annual earnings, rounded up to the next higher $10,000. Coverage is subject to a minimum of $10,000 and an overall maximum of $500,000. Coverage is also available for a spouse/domestic partner and/or dependent child(ren).
Voluntary Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance:
Full-time and regular part-time employees working at least 20 hours per week may elect Voluntary AD&D Insurance in any $10,000 increment; subject to a maximum of $500,000, not to exceed ten times their basic annual earnings. Coverage is also available for a spouse/domestic partner and/or dependent child(ren).

Long Term Disability Plan
The long-term disability plan provides financial protection for you by paying a portion of your income while you are disabled. The amount you receive is based on the amount you earned before your disability began. In some cases, you can receive disability payments even if you work while you are disabled. The Employee is eligible the first of the month after one year of service and ²ÝÁñÉçÇø pays the entire cost of the premium.  After 180 calendar days of disability, if eligible, the policy pays 60% of your base salary not to exceed $10,000 per month.
Long Term Disability Insurance
- Plan Effective Date: April 1, 2016.
- Eligible Group(s): All active employees working at least three-quarter time.
Waiting Period
First of the month coinciding with or following 12 months of employment.
The employee must be in continuous active employment in an eligible group during the specified waiting period. If a break in service occurs where premiums are not being paid, upon returning to work, the waiting period must be met again before an employee may participate in the Long Term Disability Plan.
Who Pays for the Coverage
Your employer pays the cost of your coverage.
Elimination Period
180 calendar days of Disability caused by the same or a related sickness or injury, which must be accumulated within a 360 Calendar day period.
Monthly Benefit
60% of monthly earnings up to a maximum benefit of $10,000 per month.

Eligibility
As an ²ÝÁñÉçÇø employee, you are eligible the first of the month after employment, provided you enroll within 30 days after hire date or during annual open enrollment.
Benefits Provided
- Health Care Reimbursement Account: Pre-tax dollars can be put aside to pay for medical, dental, and vision costs not reimbursed by insurance.
- Limited Purpose Account for HSA Enrollees Only: Pre-tax dollars can be put aside to pay for dental and vision related costs not reimbursed by insurance.
- Dependent Care Reimbursement Account: Pre-tax dollars can be set aside for expenses for care of dependent child or dependent spouse or parent.
- Premium Redirection Account: Premiums for health and dental insurance can be deducted on a pre-tax basis.
Annual Campus Security and Fire Safety Report
²ÝÁñÉçÇø makes available our Annual Campus Security and Fire Safety Report. It includes crime statistics for the previous three years. It also includes institutional safety policy statements, a description of the Daily Crime and Fire Logs, emergency notification information, fire safety disclosures, and important information regarding sexual misconduct. You may also request and obtain a paper copy of the report by contacting the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Police Department at 614-823-1222. ²ÝÁñÉçÇø is committed to providing a welcoming environment free from unlawful discrimination.
