» Rockets Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Yao Ming felt the urgency pressing against him. Though the season was still in early January, before the Rockets had turned around last season, he felt time running short.
"When you launch a rocket, you will not go (from) zero to 100 miles (per hour) in one second," Yao said. "We need time to turn it up."
The Rockets had lost six of eight games, five in a row on the road. They were 21-15 and they would eventually get back home. But there was a sense that time was running out.
Then the Rockets beat the Celtics and though they refused to call one game a turnaround, they knew that they had offered a reminder that a turnaround is still possible.
"We need to keep our passion," Yao said.

Now the Celtics are losing at home, too. The defending NBA champions dropped their sixth game in eight tries Wednesday night, falling to the Houston Rockets 89-85 on Von Wafer's go-ahead 3-pointer with 44 seconds left. » Back home, 76ers top Rockets, stop losing streak (AP)
All the 76ers needed to finally beat a team from Texas was to fly out of the Lone Star State and head home. Once back in Philadelphia, Andre Iguodala took over. Iguodala tied his season high with 28 points and the reeling 76ers returned home from a dreadful road trip to beat the Houston Rockets 104-96 on Tuesday night.

» Bibby hits winning 3 for Hawks over Rockets (AP)
Atlanta coach Mike Woodson needed a reversal of fortune after the Hawks' loss the night before on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer. Fortunately for Woodson, Mike Bibby had the right touch after taking Joe Johnson's pass beyond the arc. "Mike stepped up and made a great shot," Woodson said. "Joe made a good find, and he was able to knock it down." Bibby made a 3-pointer with 1.5 seconds remaining, and Josh...

» McGrady, Artest held out vs. Hawks (AP)
Tracy McGrady missed Houston's game against Atlanta on Saturday night because of a chronically sore left knee, and sixth-man Ron Artest was sidelined by a swollen right ankle. Brent Barry started his first game of the season, replacing McGrady. According to coach Rick Adelman, Houston might give McGrady more time to recover by resting him on the second game of back-to-back nights.
