A newly configured first line of Anze Kopitar, Wayne Simmonds and Alexander Frolov contributed two goals as the Kings reached the three-goal plateau for only the second time in...

» Hiller, Pahlsson help Ducks beat Kings 3-1 (AP)

Los Angeles Kings goalie Erik Ersberg, top, of Sweden, makes a save in front of Anaheim Ducks left wing Drew Miller in the third period of an NHL hockey game in Anaheim, Calif., Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009.

Because of the Ducks' smothering defense, goalie Jonas Hiller didn't have to work very hard. "I've never had that low a shot total against, so definitely we played pretty well defensively," Hiller said Tuesday night after facing only 18 shots in Anaheim's 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings. "They didn't have many good scoring chances at all.
